The 2023/24 tournament is the last edition of the competition to feature 32 teams, with the format set to change next year in order to include a greater number of teams. Next year, 36 teams will qualify for the group stage, with a “Swiss-style” format to be used instead.

For the first time, this year’s competition will have three English teams in the group stage: Liverpool, Brighton and Hove Albion and West Ham. Liverpool are favourites to win the competition with internet bookies after finishing fifth in the Premier League last season. The Reds last competed in the tournament in 2015-16 in which they lost to Sevilla in the final. They were three times winners of the UEFA Cup, a previous incarnation of the event. This experience in the competition makes them the firm favourite for another victory, with 10bet having Liverpool at 5/2 to win the tournament.

Brighton have qualified for the Europa League for the first time in the club’s history. Roberto De Zerbi’s team finished the Premier League in sixth place last season which secured their spot in European football for the first time. Despite being novices, the club also has a great chance of going far in the tournament, 10Bet has the seagulls at 9/1 to become victorious which would be an amazing achievement for the club who were only relatively recently promoted to the Premier League in 2017.

West Ham are the final English team in this year’s tournament. They are fresh from their Europa Conference League trophy win last season when they defeated Fiorentina 2-1 in the tournament’s final in Prague. Looking for another win in Europe, 10Bet has the Hammers at 20/1 to win this year’s Europa League.

The 2024 final is set to be held at Dublin Arena, also known as the Aviva Stadium, in the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday 22 May. With The tournament fast approaching, it is set to be one full of excitement, with English chances increased by having three clubs competing for the first time.
